ALMA EmpowerHER now offers English classes for adults at beginner and intermediate levels. From Our CEO & Founder, Mariana Martindale
ALMA was founded upon my experiences as a first-generation Puerto Rican woman navigating the realms of higher education, career development, and leadership without a defined roadmap. Throughout this journey, I encountered barriers—cultural, structural, and personal—that often made the path forward challenging and isolating. Yet these same experiences strengthened my resolve and underscored the importance of persistence, community, and guided support. ALMA emerged from this understanding, grounded in the belief that no Latina should be expected to advance alone. Our mission is to provide the mentorship, resources, and leadership development necessary for every Latina to rise with confidence and purpose.
